Step 1 - Log In
Log in to your Joomla Administration area. You will usually find your Admin area by adding /administrator to your domain name - for example, www.yourdomain.com/administrator .
Step 2 - Add User via the Admin Menu
In the main menu, go to Users > User Manager > Add New User.
Step 3 - Add Account Details
Enter the user's name and email address. Then create a username for them and assign a password.
Tip: It's highly recommended to use strong passwords, consisting of both upper and lower case letters, numbers, and punctuation. You may wish to use a random password generator to quickly create an industrial-strength password. If a user wishes to have an easier-to-remember password, they can always log in and change it.
Step 4 - Assign One or More user Groups
In the Assigned User Groups section, use the checkboxes to assign the user to one or more user groups, depending on what kind of access they should have. If you are unclear about which groups to select, check with your webmaster.
TIP: Joomla has very advanced access controls. The groups shown in the screenshot below are the default ones included with any Joomla installation, but you may have entirely different groups. Joomla user groups and access controls willbe covered in detail in later tutorials.
Step 5 - Save the User
Finally, click Save & Close.
